The OPT Mistake I See Every Semester

(And how to avoid it)

Every semester, I see students make the same OPT mistake.

They wait too long…
They guess on their start date…
Or they submit without fully understanding the process.

And by the time they realize something is wrong…

It’s already too late to fix it.

That’s why I’m doing something different this semester.

I’m opening a small cohort for the OPT Sprint Fellowship™ — a structured, 12-week system where I work directly with a select group of students to guide them through their OPT application the right way.

(👉 I’ll be reviewing applications over the next few days and finalizing the cohort shortly after.)

Inside the Fellowship, we focus on outcomes — not guesswork:

• Building a clear OPT timeline and strategy
• Choosing a start date that supports your job search
• Submitting an error-free application with confidence
• Understanding what actually matters after you get approved

Because here’s the truth most students don’t realize:

👉 OPT approval is not the finish line…

It’s the starting point of your career in the U.S.

Students accepted into the cohort will also receive the OPT Execution Toolkit™ before we even begin, including:

• Step-by-step OPT application guide
• Timeline & checklist
• Job Search Launchpad Toolkit
• Recruiter “Hire Me” Cheat Sheet
• 100 OPT-friendly employers list

(Everything you need to start taking action immediately.)

This will be a small group to ensure each student gets direct guidance and support throughout the process.

And because I know cost can be a barrier, I’ve set aside a limited number of Fellowship Scholarships for this cohort.

But to be clear:

The real value isn’t the scholarship.

It’s having a clear strategy — and the right guidance — during one of the most important transitions of your U.S. journey.

If you’re graduating in the next 6–9 months and want to be considered:

Reply ‘OPT.’ Simple as that.
I’ll send you the details and application.

Always on Your Side,

Dr. Josh
