New Post

Last weekend, I had the opportunity to attend a book launch that was unlike anything I’ve ever seen. The author wasn’t a celebrity, politician, or billionaire.

It was Alex Hormozi — a name that might not mean much to you if you don’t spend your evenings in the entrepreneurial or fitness space. But trust me: this guy is a force.

At his launch, Alex broke the Guinness World Record for the fastest-selling non-fiction book in history.

That means he outsold not just other entrepreneurs, but even the biggest celebrities — including Prince Harry’s memoir, Spare. Think about that for a second: a man who built gyms, businesses, and now a movement, just leapfrogged royalty.

Why?

Yes, Alex is incredibly sharp. Yes, he knows how to market. But the real reason is this: his mission is simple and powerful. He wants to make world-class business education available to the masses.

And when you have a mission people can believe in, they rally behind it. They share it. They bring others along.

What This Made Me Realize

As I sat in that audience, it struck me: what Alex is doing for entrepreneurs, I need to do for international students.

For over eight years, I’ve been in the trenches of international education. I’ve helped thousands of students navigate F-1 visas, CPT, OPT, H-1Bs, and even green cards. I’ve been the person on the other end of the email when students panic over a deadline, or cry tears of joy when they finally get approval.

And I’ve seen the same problem over and over: high-quality, trustworthy information is locked away.

Sometimes it’s hidden behind expensive attorneys.

Sometimes it’s buried in government websites so confusing that even seasoned advisors get lost.

And sometimes it’s just… nowhere.

Students are left piecing together answers from Reddit threads, random blogs, or well-meaning but misinformed friends.

That doesn’t sit right with me. Because for international students, bad information isn’t just inconvenient — it can cost you your degree, your job, even your ability to stay in the U.S.

Putting My Time, Energy, and Money Where My Mouth Is

That’s why I’m building something new. Something I wish every single student had access to when they first arrive in the U.S.

It’s called Ask A DSO (Free).

Think of it as a community hub designed to give you:

  • Clear, reliable guidance on visa basics, work authorization, and career planning.

  • Quick-reference resources that cut through the jargon and show you what matters most.

  • Monthly live calls where you can get your questions answered and learn from others’ experiences.

  • A supportive peer community where you can connect with other students walking the same path.

And yes, it’s completely free. No catch. No gimmick. Just my way of making sure international students everywhere have a foundation they can trust.

Why Now?

Because I believe international students deserve better.

I believe the student from India who’s worried about OPT shouldn’t have to pay $500 just to learn the basics of how it works.

I believe the student from Brazil who’s afraid of making a status mistake should have a safe place to ask questions and get answers that are accurate, not anecdotal.

And I believe the student from Nigeria who dreams of working in Silicon Valley should have tools and strategies to chart their path with confidence, not confusion.

This isn’t just about information. It’s about empowerment. It’s about giving international students a voice, a roadmap, and a community to lean on.

What’s Next

Over the coming weeks, I’ll be sharing more about what’s inside the Ask A DSO (Free) community, how you can join, and why I believe it can change the game for students everywhere.

For now, I just want you to know this: I’ve been inspired. Alex Hormozi reminded me that when you have a mission worth fighting for, you go all in.

This is me going all in.

Stay tuned — because next week, I’ll open the doors. And when I do, I’d love for you to be there.

Because the truth is: international students deserve a place where guidance isn’t just good, it’s gold. And this free community is my way of making that vision real.

Talk soon,
Dr. Josh

PS: Alex didn’t break records alone — it happened because his audience carried the mission with him. I’m asking you to help me do the same. No money, no strings — just one simple thing: if you know an international student who’s struggling with visas, work authorization, or career questions, forward this email to them. Let’s open the doors wider and build a movement that helps every student succeed.
