ICE Raids Are Increasing – Here’s What You Need to Know

Here’s how to protect yourself and your loved ones:

🚨 If ICE or law enforcement approaches you:

1️⃣ Stay Silent – You don’t have to answer questions about your immigration status. Just say, “I am exercising my right to remain silent.”

2️⃣ Do Not Run – Stay calm. Running can escalate the situation.

3️⃣ Do Not Open the Door – ICE cannot enter your home without a valid warrant signed by a judge. If they show Form I-200 or I-205, it is NOT enough.

4️⃣ Ask for a Lawyer – Never sign anything without legal advice.

5️⃣ Do Not Show False Documents – This can have severe, permanent consequences.

6️⃣ Document Everything – If safe, record names, badge numbers, and what is said.

7️⃣ Memorize an Emergency Contact – Have your attorney or a family member’s number memorized.

8️⃣ Do Not Consent to a Search – If ICE asks, say: “I do not consent to a search.”

⚠️ If You Are Detained:

• Stay calm. Do not resist.

• Call your lawyer and family.

• Request to see an immigration judge—do not agree to voluntary departure without legal advice.

• If you have legal status (pending green card, work permit, etc.), tell them and show proof.
